xconv~ and multispeakerbrir~ current status

Hi there,

Looking for real-time convolution options of BRIRs I found two potential candidates within the spat~ package, but I see that both of them are marked as ‘not finished’. Could someone point out what’s the current status of those and what are the limitations or untested features at the moment?

Also, is it possible to load SOFA files with xconv~?

Hi Sebastià,

spat5.xconv~ :

  • basically not tested
  • (slight) audio artifacts have been reported when loading a new IR
  • several options yet missing
  • osc syntax might change in future releases
  • not possible to load SOFA file

spat5.multispeakerbrir~ :

  • barely tested (but seemed OK)
  • I dont quite remember if this implements the complete SOFA MultiSpeakerBRIR convention or only a subset thereof.
    e.g. only the first ListenerPosition / ListenerView is currently considered.
  • several options yet missing
  • osc syntax might change in future releases
