Visual Studio Code Support

Hello,

A minimal extension is available for providing language support for Antescofo in Visual Studio Code. Its functionality is similar to the support provided for the Sublime editor.

The VS Code extension can be found on GitHub at at vscode-antescofo-highlight. nstallation is straightforward: simply clone the repository into your local VS Code extensions directory and run npm install to install the required dependencies. For more details, refer to the project’s README.md.

The necessary tools (VS Code and npm) are easy to install using your system’s package manager. On macOS, I recommend using Homebrew.

@giavitto I just saw this and didn’t know that it existed!

Over the weekend I made this: GitHub - Antescofo/antescofo-vscode: Antescofo tooling for Visual Studio Code offering syntax awareness, navigation helpers, and authoring conveniences for `.asco`, `.antescofo`, and `.asco.txt` scores.

Which is similar but is “workspace” aware (@include, command-click on process/var/macro etc).

@giavitto I made sure that the new package (distributed in VSCode Marketplace) does not regress any feature you provide in this one but is more context-aware (especially with includes etc). This is version 0.3.0 now.

I believe if we want to go further, we should provide a Language Server Protocol… which is easily doable but maybe overkill as of today!

Thank you, Arshia, for developing the VSCode package. It was eagerly awaited and really offers a new level of convenience when editing large Antescofo scores. The transition from Sublime to VScode may not be immediate, but it’s definitely worth it when you face complex scores thanks the context-awareness.
