Spat 4.5.3 CPU utilization

Hello!

Since I have started to use the new Spat version (4.5.3) some days ago I noticed that it consumes much more cpu power as version 4.4.0. I need 8-10% more DSP in my actual patch than in the old version for 2 iracamverbs with default settings and 2 spats with “@numsources 8 @numreverbs 1 @numspeakers 8 @numinternals 8 @numcascades 3 @panning panr” and “@numsources 5 @numreverbs 1 @numspeakers 4 @numinternals 8 @numcascades 3 @panning angular”.

Could you please update the old Spat CPU evaluation chart (“spat.cpu.txt” in “doc” folder) or simply post new values here, so I can estimate how much more CPU I need to migrate my old projects?

Thank you in advance,

Egor

Thanks for your feedback.

The spat.cpu spreadsheet will be updated for the next Spat release. Coming soon!

If you use Max 5 and the 32 bits float Spat version, the CPU load is pretty similar to previous releases. The CPU with Max 6 and/or 64 bits float version is higher (10% increase is a ballpark figure).

Be sure I’m doing my best to optimize as much as possible.
