panoramix 1.3.0

Dear all,

Panoramix 1.3.0 is ready for download.
Any feedback appreciated.

Best,
T.

  • added option to insert phantom speaker at the zenith and/or nadir (vbap and vbip busses)
  • /bus/[index]/delay/bypass and /bus/[index]/spread/bypass properly stored in presets
  • added tooltip info bubble on vu-meters
  • added tooltip bubbles in routing matrix
  • fix minor display issues when resizing window

Cool ! and a phantom speaker just for me ;-)) (just kidding)

I’v tried some routings (no speaker array at disposal for the moment) and all went well, to be continued…

Though I had a crash once when trying deleting three buses (to mute and check) all at once but couldn’t reproduce it ?? My bad I did not check the console :frowning:

Bye and thanks again

N.

Hi Nadir,

Maybe you can retrieve the crash logs in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/.
I’d be curious to have a look at it.

Thanks,
T.

Hi there

I’ve got quite of an issue with Panoramix and I can’t figure out what the problem could be.

I try to work with Reaper in Win10, using Rearoute as virtual routing patchbay. These are the steps I try to switch on everything to start working, until it crashes.

  1. I open Reaper and the project I want to work with, which has 32 Tosca instances, and sends audio to 32 inputs of Max. Reaper runs in 32bits, as Rearoute wants. The Tosca instances are offline now, so Panoramix doesn’t crash because it’s receiving too many strings.
  2. Switch on Panoramix_Ircam, open the panoramix IU, load a project I prepared before with 32 inputs and 32 outputs.
  3. I make sure all the audio device settings are right, Reaper’s signals are going to Panoramix and I can see them in the trim section of the mono tracks
  4. I make the Tosca instances online, and Max crashes completely.

The tosca startup_mapping doc is as follows

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

Any clue on what I am doing wrong? Let me know what other screenshots/info you would need.

Thank you

Axel

Hi Axel,

Which of these parameters are actually enabled in Reaper automation ? (screenshot if needed)
Most of the parameters in the list are actually not supported by panoramix + you have duplicates + I think that white spaces (as in “early width”) would not work.

(That should not explain the crash, though. Just trying to narrow down the issue)

Hi T

Yesterday in the end I spent a bit of time trying to understand what could have gone wrong, changed the XML file for Tosca and everything, I reached a point where not even the virtual audio routing wasn’t working. In the end, I found a way where everything works, with the previous XML file (full of all the Spat4 parameters, that I still need sometimes). It’s just a matter of switching on everything in the right order, at least in my case:

  1. Switch on Reaper, without opening any project
  2. Switch on Panoramix-IRCAM
  3. Switch on DSP
  4. Load the Panoramix project
  5. Open project in Reaper

This way everything works fine without issues.

Have a nice day

Axel
