Hi everyone,
With this post, I’d like to update you on my work with Dicy 2. Since I started using it quite a while ago, Dicy has become my main tool for both improvisation and composition.
Here are three videos and a sound file of a piece (still a work in progress).
The first video
is a presentation of a patch I created during my residency at ArtZoyd studio in Valenciennes, France. This Artaud project is still something I’m working on, and I think it will follow me throughout 2025. As you can see, I like to pair Dicy with other software and packages.
The other two videos are improvisations:
Additionally, my goal and research are increasingly focused on using Dicy with less musical and pitch-oriented sounds.
Finally, here’s a drony piece generated almost entirely with Dicy with some concat synth elements, during the recording process I tweaked Dicy parameters in real time, so this recording is just this moment, each time I run Ableton something different happens. I only did some minor mixing and editing afterward. I created this in Ableton Live using the plugin version of Dicy 2, with a single synth track “influencing” different agents, a cello corpus and a flute corpus. I plan to make a video soon explaining this session in detail. Dropbox
Please let me know what you think and if you have any ideas about how I can evolve my work.
I’m also looking for concerts and venues that might be interested in hosting me with these projects. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Lionel Hubert
PS : I can’t remember how to put this post in the “Projects with Dicy 2” thread
