Hi, I am looking to mix multiple Ambix (ACN, SN3D) Streams together.
Would this be a valid approach:
It seems okay, Is there anything I should be aware off when mixing Ambisonic streams like this?
Greetings, Marijn.

Hi marijn,
Yes, that looks correct.
To mix multiple ambisonic streams, you just need to sum them (as long as they all are in ACN). Here, the summation (implicitly) happens at the input of spat5.hoa.rotate~
, so that’s fine.
NB : for the sake of “user-friendliness”, you might use only one spat5.hoa.focus
object, with 3 beampatterns, and route its output messages to the 3 different spat5.hoa.focus~
processors. Just a suggestion.
Best,
T.
Hi T,
Thanks! I did not know spat5.hoa.focus could have multiple beams.
The mixer interface looks like this:
Ambix files can be loaded directly from Unity3D, and mixed as background ambiences. Putting the hoa beams together is a great idea!
Is it correct that ACN, SN3D is the right setting for AmbiX? Hoa conventions can get a bit confusing sometimes.
Yes : AmbiX = ACN SN3D.
