Differences between spat5.early and spat5.cluster

Hi,

I was wondering what was the difference between the [spat5.early~] and [spat5.cluster~] in term of processing ? I understand why they are separated to build the reverberation engine (Carpentier et al., 2015) but when I look at the maxhelp files of the two objects, they are quite similar. If I understood well, they both simply create n delay lines with interpolation. So are they the same module but with different name to facilitate utilisation ?

Thanks,

Pierre

Hi,

They are actually different :
spat5.early~ has one delay line, and delivers N taps.
spat5.cluster~ has N delay lines, each delivering N taps. (so NxN taps in total)

Best,
T.

Ok, thanks for the clarification !

So, when we send the “/delays $1 $2 $3 $4” to a 4-ch spat5.cluster, each delay line would have the same delay tap values ? And does that means that we could set independantly the delay tap values for each channel ?
