Audio-Light Installation - Optimal Speaker Placement and Spat Config

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on an audio-light installation that involves 12 loudspeakers and 26 lights. The setting for this installation is a Cloister, with dimensions of 40x12 meters.

For speaker placement, I’ve positioned 6 speakers along the long sides, equidistant from each other.

Regarding the loudspeaker configuration, is it preferable to specify the exact room dimensions, or can I scale everything between -1 and 1?

Hello,

I would usually recommend to use normalized coordinates (with loudspeakers at an arbitrary fixed distance, say 1.0). This would ease the porting of the piece, in case you have to install it in other venues in the future.
