Antescofo Playback Midi Instrumentation

How is possible to create a Midi Score with instrumental version and playback?

Hello Borgel.
I am not sure to understand your question.

Antescofo uses its own language to describe the musical part played by an instrumentist and followed by the system. This score is not in midi form. You can have a look at http://antescofo-doc.ircam.fr/UserGuide/structure/ . This score includes arbitrary real-time program to make the accompaniment, ranging from Max/PD messages (to trigger various effects or synthesis programmed in Max), to arbitrary OSC messages (to a SuperCollider serveur for heavy sound synthesis, to the SSPAT for ambisonic spatialization, through DMX mesaages to program real-time light effect, etc.). .

So:

  • it is possible to follow a midi instrument by feeding the midi notes to Antescofo (instead of the audio),
  • it is possible to send Max or PD messages that trigger midi event to make a midi accompaniment,
  • it is possible to emit midi event that correspond to the musical event recognized by the listening machine (in fact it is already done on the example patch, take a look at the fourth outlet),
  • it is NOT possible to output a midi transcription of the accompaniment programmed in antescofo (because it is arbitrary and can do everything programmable).

The antescofo documentation is available here: http://antescofo-doc.ircam.fr The user guide is a short introduction in 9 web pages.

And you will find useful pointers and practical information in this post:

Thanks very much.Hubert
