transformer des sons en partition

Hi,

je cherche un logiciel sous linux qui puisse capturer des sons entrée de différents instruments (piano, violon, voix …etc.) et les transcrire en notes sur une partition.
Est ce que ça existe?
Si oui, lequel?
Si non pouvez-vous m’aider?

Cordialement
T.

Hi T.

You can use svp or pm2 to analyze sounds inside OM (e.g. using the functions ‘partial-tracking’ or ‘chord-seq-analysis’), and outputting for instance a chord-seq, letting you massage the output further. The quality of your output will depend much on the sound, and the way you tweak your settings.

There’s much analysis software which might do some of what you need, sonic visualiser, others. You’ll find polyphonic pitch trackers in apps like SuperCollider or PD, but they’re aimed at rt-work, and severly limited as transcription tools. YMMV.

Assuming that OpenMusic, SuperVP and PM2 work under Linux (which seems to be the case), you can use the OpenMusic patch attached to this Forumnet Tribune:
http://forumnet.ircam.fr/tribune/making-an-orchestra-speak/

It uses the tools mentioned above to analyze harmonic structures, quantize and output an OM score. This is not exactly what you want but you can change the OM patch to simplify this and make it your own.

hi,

i don’t understand really what you say.
is it possible with OpenMusic to get sounds from a music instrument and transform these sounds in notes on paper partition?

Please help!!!
Thanks

Yes. The help-files and tutorials for the OM-pm2 and OM-supervp libraries suggests ways to achieve what you prescribe here.

thanks,

i am on Linux Debian 8.1
what have i to do to download and to install on my pc?

help!!

Hi T. The linux development is done on Fedora, and the maintained packages are for Fedora. If you’re lucky you may also find updated releases for Ubuntu 14.04.

However, i beleive Karim Haddad (he’s one of the gurus…) runs OM on Debian. If he doesn’t give any response here, try asking at the regular OM-forum.

In addition, to do the sound->note transcriptions, OM uses supervp and/or pm2 (the engines in Audiosculpt). These tools are included if you download the libraries from the IRCAM forum, but i think you’ll have to pay for a forum license to get them running. I beleive the best place to get precise answers to issues vs. licenses etc. is at the regular OM forum:

http://forumnet.ircam.fr/user-groups/linux-users-group/forum/topic/transformer-des-sons-en-partition/#post-16780

Good luck, and if you get through the mentioned tutorials, and have some questions, please don’t hesitate asking here again!

Many thanks!!

Dear T

As I told you before, OM cannot automatically capture musical instruments and transcribe them into clean score sheets. This process needs a lot of preparation. What you will have is a stream of partials that will be needed to be filtered and parsed.
Another thing is , the installation of OM on debian. If you are a familiar with linux i can send you mi .dewb [ackage of the 6.9beta release that I use. However you need to install first the SDIF lib in /usr/local/lib then have all the requirements of the package. But usually the standard release will do. Tell me if you need the deb package.

Best
K

Dear K.

thanks for your response.

I’d like you to send me you “.deb” package.
i don’t really understand when you say:
"

can you explain a bit more how to use OM and what you call “preparation” ?

Many many thanks

T.

ok

First of all just check out this :

http://support.ircam.fr/docs/om-libraries/main/co/OM-Libraries.html

I am sending you the package will try here first. But please be advised it is as is. you should read first of all the instructions and requirements in the README.LINUX file.

sorry again the read me here :

Hi
Here is an OM debian package for debian :

https://forge.ircam.fr/p/OM/downloads/554/

PS: Remember you should first install the SDIF library first.

Have fun
