However, I would like to know if some specific characteristics have to be followed within the model?

There are 2 ways to deal with finite elements in Modalys:
- 2d surface mesh (quadrilaterals), and then provide the Modalys object with a thicknes parameter (many lua-based examples are like that)
- solid mesh (hexahedra)
You should avoid triangles for surfaces: most of the time Modalys will have a hard time computing the modes in that case.
I don’t think .obj support solid meshing (hexahedra) but I can check it.
