Spat 5.2 on windows

Excellent !
So, the problem was missing Visual C++ Redistributable ?
(otherwise please explain, so that other users facing similar challenges can refer to this thread)

Thanks,
T.

Apparently Visual C ++ Redistributable was missing (I am attaching the link you provided again):

https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

But the problem on Win WM on macOS still persists, I need to do some checks and I’ll let you know!

Thanks

Hi Thibaut,

I know spat 5.2 has a much lower package size on Windows then the previous version
Just out of curiosity, Is spat 5.2 also better optimized?

Greetings, Marijn

Hi marijn,

Some people claim that smaller binary size also improves the cpu performances; I dont really think that’s the case (except maybe for computers with very little RAM). Although I have not benchmarked.

So, no, there is no significant CPU optimization in 5.2 (compared to previous versions), except for spat5.conv~ (see Tuning SPAT objects for improving audionumeric performances on a windows OS?)

Everything is already extremely optimized, so only tiny details can be improved in future releases.

Best,
T.

I see. It is great that the package size what reduced so much! So far spat is working very stable for me!
