Somax 2.6.1 server issues

edit: i just solved it by running ./somax_server from terminal as root.

hello!

i’m having trouble getting the server up and running with somax 2.6.1, using the overview patch. i’ve tried running it manually from finder also, but to no avail. i’m on macOS 11.7.1 (big sur, inter mac).

this is the error i get in the terminal when trying to start the server:

RuntimeError: cannot cache function '__shear_dense': no locator available for file 'librosa/util/utils.py'
[13858] Failed to execute script 'somax_server' due to unhandled exception: cannot cache function '__shear_dense': no locator available for file 'librosa/util/utils.py'

i also tried manually installing librosa, thinking it was a dependency issue, but that did not solve it.

any ideas of what to try next? thanks!

Thanks for reporting this issue (and solution)!

I’ll see if I can find some solution for non-root usage in the next release
