setcentspitchbend question

Hi Robert,

I’m using the new function setcentspitchbend that i find great to solve the question of tuning a resonator without recalculating modes. It allows me to vary the pitch without clicks and cpu peaks.

Just a question: clearly this technique is a workaround for practical purposes, does this function make a simple transposition of modes so that it generates a different behavior from a real physical simulation?
The timbre i obtain is different if I create a sound with no pitchbend and a sound transposed one octave higher. To my hear this is a good sound and timber yet. But I imagine that “purists” could disagree…

Anyway, by now I’m obtaining good results. Evantually I will post some sound example here to make you hear.

Cheers and have a good Job, Mister Watson

Hi Lorenzo,

Modalys “cents pitchbend” is not very physical indeed.
Purist such as Pr Moriarty will certainly complain, but musicians will love it.
