Save BPF

Hi - I have what I’m sure is a stupid question, but there you are - I’m stuck:
How do I save the state of a (complex) BPF (perhaps as a text file?), so that a) it doesn’t have to be recalculated every time I need to use it in different places, b) it doesn’t get corrupted and c) I don’t need the entire patch that created it every time I use it?
Thanks! Jonathan

Hi

Very simple,
You just open the bpf editor
You go to menu file,
you export OM instance

There you have a bpf saved as an instance which you can import again in any empty bpf in any patch.

Thanks!
I was looking in the editor - but in fact I still can’t see import/export options under file. I must be doing something wrong, but ctrl-click on the factory box gives me the options.

Then - I’m just using it with x-transfer to map/modulate a list. So just three objects: my BPF, a simple list and x-transfer:
The BPF imports my curve successfully (I can see it in the editor). If I eval x-transfer, it produces my original list unmapped and the BPF is reset to its default diagonal. If I do the same with the BPF in lambda, the imported BPF stays but I get no output and an error “No method is defined for these types in X-Transfer”.
Thanks in advance, j

Hi JimPett,
you should lock your bpf first.,., :

  1. select imported bpf
  2. type b

That’s all

Hi Karim,

I thing this is a very interesting option to save an OM instance, but when I open the bpf editor and clic in the menu file, I only obtain the close option.

Please can you tell me what I’ve done wrong ?

thx

Yes ,

of course sorry , the export option is in the beta test version … Sorry,
What you should do though is select the bpf in the patch (not the editor’s window) and right-click , or cmd-click (if you still use apple), and there you have the export option,.,
