quantize fundamental to quarter-tone

Hello,

is there a way in AS to adjust the boundaries of the quantization of a tracked fundamental? It is my understanding that at the moment the default is quantized to the half-tone, but I would like to do it at quarter tones. Is this possible?

Thank you,

Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

Currently there is no way to quantize the fundamental using quarter tones.
It is actually quantized to the nearest midi note.
But that can be added to our “feature request” list for sure

Best regards,
Charles

that would be very useful, is there any specific thread for feature request?
Thanks

There is a workaround if I’m not wrong: perform a chordseq analysis then keep the lowest note of each chord in OM for example.
It won’t be quantized to 1/2 tones. The only problem is that the lowest note might not be the fundamental.
To see if it is the case, perform a Fundamental Tracking and compare the results with the lowest chordseq notes.
If this lowest note is no fundamental you’ll need to pass the chords list thru “Virt-fund” function in OM.

Just my two cents.
