Quantification subdivision

Hello,

I’m trying to quantify using a subdivision of 32.
With omquantify i only get a subdivision of 31.
With gkant I can’t even use floats and get error message (attached in picture below)

  1. is it possible to achieve a subdiv equal or greater than 32 with omquantify?
  2. how to use floats with gkant?

thanks & regards,
rc

Dear rc,

I think you have reached a limitation here in your example. Let me ask you what are you trying to do?

If you need to WRITE 1/128th notes it is possible, like so:

On the other hand, it is another piece of cake to QUANTIFY these. omquantify or/and gkant purpose is to quantify rhythm that are perceptible. And actually OM doesn’t handle grace-notes yet We are working on it.

Hi K,

Thanks for the explanation.

I’m trying to quantify a list of durations in milliseconds and i have some problems, so i started to try to figure out how omquantify works and its limitations. Where can I find more information about it?

One of my problems is that omquantify doesn’t completely quantify lists like:

(-699 4311 2331 4544 3729 1399 2331 8656)

omitting the last duration (voice should be excatly 7 bars long).
Even if i change the value of the last duration (8656) it wont be completely quantified.

So, is there a way to quantify correctly that list?

best,
rc

Hi rc,

The best way to understand how omquantify works, i will say to check the code. however it is a complicated one,
Just be aware, that there is a problem in the last duration/rest rendering. omquantify will more than often crop these last ones. This is one of its flaw.
