Pgmout (Linux)

Hi,

I downloaded and installed yesterday the openmusic_7.4-1_amd64.deb (Linux Mint Xfce)
I tried the 01-midievents tutorial patch to change the midi instrument of a note.
The pgmout doesn’t change any program when evaluated. Same with volume, pitchbend and ctrlchg.
On the other hand, the maquette example in the same tutorial is working (it changes the midi instrument inside the maquette), so fluidsynth is working and midi ch is correct.
How can i change midi instrument with pgmout?

best,
rc

Hi rc,

What synth are you using? It could be that the synth has the same program on all 0 to126 ?
Can you test with the om tutorial #10?

Hi K,

I’m using fluidsynth.
pgmout in tutorial 10 doesn’t work also

Oh sorry, now i understand
Program changes and other “midi” messages for fluidsynth must be used with their fluid prefixed equivalent. You will fin them in the Functions->Fluid menu. In fact they are no more MIDI messages per se but fluid messages.

Here is the turoial 10 (fluid) version:

And here the patch:
fluid-tutorial-10.omp (26.9 KB)

Thanks K for the quick reply!
is this somewhere documented?
are there more fluid-* tut public available?

Sorry, but for the time being there are no help or tutorials. But you are right I must do these ASAP. I am planning a release by the end of october with many new stuff.

Thank you for the suggestion.
