To celebrate this major change, Partiels has been upgraded to version 2. This update is also accompanied by numerous additions and corrections, the full list of which can be found in the changelog. This is very exciting… If I’ve understood correctly, this is analogous (but far more advanced, of course) to the kind of software that the first-generation spectral composers were using in the 1970s?

The application’s name is more a tribute than a reference to specific features. Partiels lets you run all kinds of analyses on audio files, but does not let you transform or synthesize sounds. For that, take a look at the ASAP project.
