I’ve been wondering if Koechlin’s Traité de l’Orchestration played a role in the development of Orchids and does anyone know of an English translation for the text? I’ve been searching for awhile now and can’t seem to find anything. I’m hoping that it will help me understand the generated orchestrations a bit better.

I think no one ever really studied Koechlin’s Orchestration treatise, since it is now unavailable. Eschig publisher was bought by salabert, which is owned either by SONY music or Univers sale. Don’t know which,…
Anyhow, dear rgxb2807, did you read the four volumes of Charles Koechlin traite d’orchestration ?
If you did, you should know that it is very sholastic and is far beyond being incorporated in whatsoever algorithm.
(Same thing applies to Rimsky korsakov’s or Strauss treatise).
