I think (hope:-) it does work, but there’s a difference in chord-seq: you must now use the play/pause/stop controls (buttons or keyboard shortcuts, in addition to the ‘record’ button being pushed) to determine what is recorded and when it should starts.

Thanks, both Jean-Michel for the question, and Jean for the answer. I’ve been trying to find out how to do this. Using Open Music and before that PatchWork, I haven’t actually been using the record function, other than presenting the software to other composers.
