OM-Tristan dist-gen object

Hi,
Do we know the exact way the dist-gen object in OM-Tristan is operating its scaling of the harmonic series? The online documentation says ‘Returns a distorted (i.e. inharmonic) spectrum obtained through scaling of a harmonic series’, but it would be interesting to have more details on this operation.
Thanks!
Jimmie

Hi Jimmie,

It’s a simple scaling of a harmonic series. You can obtain this with om-scale and tutorial 8.
Although, i admit, what is confusing here are ‘hq1’ ‘d1’ ‘hq2’ … parameters, they refer to the om-scale , minout minin, maxout, and maxin parameters. So all in all, it is a module, to build a harmonic series, and to distort it using these parameters. By default, it just builds the harmonic series.

Hope this helps.

Best
K

Dear Karim,
Thank you very much! I reproduced it using om-scale, got it, it all makes sense.
All best,
Jimmie
