We are pleased to announce the release of OpenMusic 8.0, bringing a range of new features, improvements, and fixes across the environment. This version is available for macOS (Intel & ARM) and Windows, with Linux support coming soon.
New features include support for 53-EDO tuning (S. Socha), porting to LW 8.1.x, a new poly method for omng-quantify, flexible time display formats, enhanced score editing tools (interval selection, straight connections), and improved interaction such as input switching via keyboard shortcuts.
This release also introduces several workflow improvements, including better copy/paste handling in poly and score editors, updated Linux API behavior, enhanced visual feedback (selection, time indicators), and extended inspector capabilities.
Finally, multiple bug fixes improve overall stability and usability, addressing issues with UI interactions, workspace persistence, playback behavior, and display inconsistencies.
We welcome your feedback and bug reports to help us continue improving OpenMusic.
