MubuForMax 1.8.2 OSX

Hi all,
a new release 1.8.2 OSX (Windows will follow shortly) of MubuForMax is ready for download.
This release fixes several bugs and introduces Copy&Paste in imubu.

Best Regards
Riccardo

Release Notes for MuBu 1.8.2 22.10.2014

mubu/imubu:

  • added Cut/Copy/paste functionality, graphical for imubu (Cmd+C/V/P) on track selection or buffer selection;
by message for mubu. See help patches for more details.
  • added « add track from clipboard » and « add buffer from clipboard » (see help patches)
  • fixed markers move in Markers interface (datatrack was erased)
  • ALT+Shift+drad: directional drag in Bpf and MultiBpf editors
  • bpf/multibpf: several bug fixes in selection and « selection move »
  • fixed import from mubu files of points with same timetag
  • added selectAll method (CMD+A) in editors
  • fixed layout with vertical orientation

mubu.record:

  • reimplement overdub mode with separate punch in/out messages

  • added “append” attribute (when ON the track is not cleared at record)

  • added clear message (clear the track content)

  • added pipo.delta, based on mnm.delta (without input resynch. and additional delay options)

  • other minor bug fixes

Thank you so much for this. This was what I needed to get really started with using MUBU. Be aware of feedback and questions coming your way ;-).

To start with this: I am probably stupid but maybe you can explain why in the following patch it is not possible to copy the referred to audio track from a normal buffer while it is possible to copy a buffer that is directly read into MUBU.

Best, Hans.

Hi Hans,
thanks for your report.
It’s just a not yet implemented feature (forgotten).
I will try to do that for the next release,
I hope it is helpful anyway for your work.

Best
Riccardo

I have to see how efficient it will be using only MUBU’s to record into. When is the next release planned? During the forum perhaps?

first week of november (I hope)
best

That would be great.

I have already a question. Does the overdub mode in mubu.record already work? If so how? In the help patch it seems that only the onset track is overdubbed but the audio track and the loudness track are not. Furthermore the onset track is not bound to the same time limit as the audio track is it seems.

And is there a replace dub mode intended there as well?

Hans.

Hi Hans,

the release note was only talking about mubu.record, not mubu.record~ =-)

Audio overdub is done now, along with consistent behaviour for timetagged vs. sampled data.
Will be in the early November release.

I am getting very curious to see that release

Hans.

Hi MUBIES,

There is something fundamental that I don’t understand. mubu.granular and mubu.concat work on buffer~ objects and not on mubu buffers. Furthermore I cannot paste audio into a mubu buffer that is associated to an audio buffer. So when I want to copy a selection in a second buffer I can either not play the buffer or I cannot copy the buffer.

Is there a reason behind this behavior? Is this solved with the coming new release?

Best, Hans.

Hi Hans!

Actually it is possible to use mubu.granular~ and mubu.concat~ with a MUBU audio track, but you have to specify the name/id of the track with the argument @audio.
Usually, I work only with mubu audio tracks, that are easier to manipulate than buffer~.

Best,
Jules.

Thanks Jules, that was what I missed…

Best, Hans.
