MIDI setup problems in OM 6.9

Have you try this :

http://notahat.com/simplesynth/

works with OM 6.10

……………………………………………………… jerome

NB : Launch it before launching OM for being recognized by OM

Thank’s problem resolved. The error message disappeared and I was able to reach the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth

Hi all,

I’m running OM6.10 on OSX and I can’t seem to get any sound. I’ve tried to follow everything in this thread but I have this same message since the beginning:
OM > Warning: player engine :midishare not available for #<chord-seq 414011E533> (will be played on :midi-player).

There’s no sound though. What should I do?

Thank you!

This message appears because your chord-seq box was set on the :midishare player, which has been removed from OM 6.10 (and replaced with an in-built :midi-player)
Basically, it is nothing bad
You can remove it by setting the player once for all (from inside the editor or using right-click => Player on the chord-seq box).
That will probably not change the sound (or no-sound) result.

You should maybe check that at least one synthesizer is connected to the default port (0) in the MIDI Preferences ? What are you using for rendering ?
(ps. did you read this as well? : http://repmus.ircam.fr/openmusic/midi)

Thank you, Jean!
I’ve done as you mentioned and the message doesn’t appear anymore. However there is still no sound…
My input device in port 0 is IAC Driver Bus 1, and my output device in port 0 is SimpleSynth. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much!

Hi,

Just check out SimpleSynth’s panel and choose the correct port (you may choose either one of simplesynth or IAC).
And don’t use the same port for input and output.

Best
