MIDI Export Error

Hi all,

I have a simple set up, simply trying to export a chord-seq to MIDI. Getting the error: “Wrong integer -11 for unsigned byte type.” Pardon me if this has been elsewhere dealt with, but I couldn’t find this particular problem on the forum.

Screenshot attached.

Thanks all!

Ethan

Hello Ethan.
Your patch looks like you are converting SDIF to CHORD-SEQ, but I suspect this is not how you git this error…
Are you using the contextual menu on the chord-seq box to save as MIDI ?
Could you attach your patch so I can reproduce your problem ?

Best,
Jean

Hey Jean,

I am using the contextual menu, yea. I suspected that the problem had nothing in particular to do with OM…I simply want to extract the chord-seq as MIDI data for a project and have done precisely this before…

Thanks so much.

Patch attached.

Hello Ethan,
Sorry for the delay. Thanks for the patch — I didn’t need the whole workspace

=> Your problem is that the chord-seq you want to save as MIDI has negative pitches (falling below the MIDI key #0).
These should be filtered before to save as MIDI; I will push this in the code for the next release.
In the meantime you should probably set your partial-tracking parameters so as to avoid frequencies below ±10Hz.
