licence policy

Hello,

I have a simple question. It actually concerns most (if not all) of the max externals by ircam, but I like mlys most. I totally understand 100% that the ircam software is unique and people who want to use it should pay for it. However I find it stupid, that standalone builds, that use these externals can not be sent around and used by potential musicians, composers, etc…It is not acceptable to ask from any potential costumer to buy these ircam externals as well… I find it actually counterproductive, because it limits us as creators in new media to show our interactive works to the world. Are there any plans to change that? If not, please think about it?
thank you…

Maestro Rulez,

You are totally right… . That’s why starting this week (with releases during the Parisian 2014 Ircam Forum workshops), Forum Protections on Max objects will start to disappear. Our ultimate goal for this is to make circulation of our technologies easier for musicians and people circulating performances. Note however that this changes does not affect our licencing policy, meaning that selling Forum technologies to third party is subject to licencing.

Check back download pages by the end of this week!
