Dear Yanwen,
I did a project for controlling the Glissando/Timbre/Panning/Volume with MIDI several months ago, there is a module for controlling the timbre.
To try and use these patches, you may need to do the following things:
- Download the patches and import the de-compressed file in your OM Workspace (drag and drop, may need up to one minute);
- Install the Software SimpleSynth;
- Change the setting in om-preferences (see the photo “MIDI_Setting.png”);
- Change the Port to the same Port as in SimpleSynth; (In my case IAC1, see the photo “SimpleSynth_Setting.png” and “MIDI_Port-Setup.png”, you can create this channel in “Configuration audio and MIDI” => “window” => “Show MIDI Studio” => double click “IAC” => check “the equipment is connected” => “+” to add the port => name it IAC1);
- Open the patch “0.score-v3”, if there are some issues popped up, always click “Yes”, until it can load everything.
- Follow the instruction in the patch “0.score-v3”.
- The timbre part is in the subpatch “0.score-v3 => 01.layer1_0-30 => gliss-midi => first-channel => (omloop) make-pg-change-evt”
I think the Klangfarbe Change can be realized by generating a list of program-change events and put them in correct order and at correct timepoint. After that run the MIDIevent and the Chord-Seq at the same time.
Otherwise it could be done by using the Maquette, or, split the melody into several channel and set different instruments for each channel.
All the best,
Jialin Liu
