Invalid vaw headers

Hello,

I’m using the noise reduction function in audiosculpt a lot. I recently ran into a problem using wav-files saved by Audiosculpt, the file header seems to not be properly recognized by Csound, creating clipping and problems. After posting this to the Csound group, they found that my wav-files were not valid and needed to be saved again with a program like Audacity to fix the header. That fixed my problem. You can see some sound info below. Does the audiosculpt command line need to be included in the soundfile, or could it be more standardized and easier to use with other softwares?

Best
Ruben

Hello Ruben,

the AudioSCupt (in fact SuperVP) creates soundfiles using in fact the same library as Audacity and the files should be fully compliant with the wav standard. I have checked the format with sndfile-info numerous times, and have never experienced any problem with these files when opening them in another software. So there must be something special in your case, but without further information I cannot tell you what that might be. Could you please le me know if this is a single case or if all soundfiles you produce with AS cannot be loaded in Csound?
Thanks
Axel

Hi Ruben,

Would it be possible to have your source file ? (through WeTransfer for example)

It would be great, as we could be able then to replicate how the file is processed and written once we pass it through the Noise Removal.

Like Axel, I also tested the Noise Removal with different AIFF/WAV audio files (and formats) and have no problem reading them back using different DAWs and softwares.

But it should be better to replicate the case directly with one of your source file.

Best regards,
Charles

Hello,

Yes, I can give you examples, which e-mail should I send them to?
I had problems with many files, but only mono 96 kHz 24-bit/32-bit. I did not get any distortion with stereo or multichannel. The sounds were recorded with Reaper, noise removal with Audiosculpt and editing with Wave Editor, the problem could also come from one of the other softwares.

Best,
Ruben

Hi, i just sent you a private message with the emails in.
