Imubu: no such object

Hello,

I have the following problem, I have installed max/msp 6.1.7, and copy imubu folder inside the cycling '74 but when I open a patch example I have this error:
“imubu: no such object”…

I’m using OS X 10.9.4.
Also I have installed it in a macbook, and have the same errors…

Any ideas why this happen?
I saw a previous post with the same problem, but no solution…

Thank you in advance!!

Hi, any suggestions?

I’m new to this programming language and I’m very motivated to learn it as it has many many possibilities…

Please any help? Thank you very much in advance!!!

Hi Yoohanup,

Sorry for the late answer.
I can’t reproduce your problem here. Usually this message means that the externals (.mxo files) are not in your Max path.

  1. The externals are loaded at startup. Have you restarted Max after copying the externals in the cycling’74 folder?

  2. If this does not work, could you try copying the MuBu folder somewhere in your computer, then in Max go to the menu “Options > File Preferences” and add the path to your MuBu folder. Restart Max.

Best,
Jules

Yoohanup,

What do you mean by “copy imubu folder inside the cycling ’74”? You should usually put them inside the PACKAGES folder for them to be seen by Max.

Another option as mentioned by Jules is to put it on your favourite place on the hard drive, and point to it in Max via Options->File Preferences.

Thank you very much for your replies!

I did what you proposed but I still had the same problem, so I realize that the mxo externals was showed as folders. I google for it and found that the mxo files were opened with “unitron” so I change it to max and now everything works fine!

Thank you very much! I’ m really happy!!
