Help: How to trigger play on multiple bpatcher spat5.input~.maxpat simultaneously

Hi, I’m a newbie to Max and have been trying to use spat 5 to trigger multiple audio sources simultaneously so that I can mess with their locations in the stereo field on the fly. However, I really don’t know how to do this! Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to this forum,

I recommend you start with opening spat5.overview.maxpat.
In the Tutos tab, have a look at the basic examples.
Then navigate into the help patchers of the objects that you will meet during these tutorials (notably spat5.oper, spat5.spat~, spat5.pan~, spat5.viewer, etc.)

Best,
T.

Amazing, thank you very much. I can see already this forum is full of helpful people. I’m sure i will be back soon with more questions!

Another question…Is there some documentation that explains the different messages that the various bpatchers can receive?

Hum, no unfortunately.
External objects are documented, and they come with a help patcher and everything.
Abstractions and bpatchers, on the other hand, are very basic, rough, and not documented. In general, they are just very basic pieces of patch, that serve as example that you are invited to modify and tweak to our own needs. You’ll have to edit and inspect them to discover the syntax/messages they support.

Best,
T.
