I’m quite thrilled by panoramix for its well-structured display and signal flow. On regular use, I noticed that the most limiting factor is the display height. (The width is ok since one can scroll channels, hide the master, undock the EQ and viewer).
Hence this feature request:
Split the channel strips globally into several vertical sections that can be switched to disappear completely.
(The in/out meters can be made invisible, but they don’t give up their vertical space.)
One could identify about 5 sections:
- input meters
- trim/eq/dynamics/dopperl/air/delay/monitor
- spatial params (azim/elev/distance): these can be seen and edited from the viewer, too
- lfe, bus, sends, routing
- output meter/mute/solo
Ableton Live’s session view mixer can give useful design hints here (without going into its full resizability…).
A possible intermediate step would be to make panoramix vertically scrollable, or ideally only the sections between in- and output meters.
What are your thoughts about this? Best…
