FluidSynth playback

Hi,
See the attached patch. When set to semi-tones, FluidSynth plays back as should do. But when set to 48EDO, then the tuning is all messed up. In my program settings, I’m loading only one synth with 16 channels (see image). I don’t touch anything else.
Am I missing something?
Thanks and all best,
Jimmie

Edit: it’s when using different channels that the playback is wrong. Otherwise, there’s no problem when everything is on channel 1.

Yes of course. OM uses multichannel for microtuning. So when you use 48EDO, this will detune channel 2, 3 and 4. That’s why,

In your case here, playing a choral in 12EDO doesn’t need a 48EDO tuning.
So it is up to you to set tuning, channels. You should also take advantage of the given possibility of ports. So let us say you need a 12EDO music, you can set it up to one port. For 48EDO to another port. This will guarantee you a consistent tuning, and dedicated program changes.

Hi Karim,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, I assumed it was about the multichannel microtuning.
In this case, it’s true that the choral doesn’t need 48EDO, but it’s because I was combining two segments of music, the other actually using quarter tones. Is that possible at all to do that with FluidSynth, that is, to use different ports in the same score object?

I have to admit that I’m not proficient enough with FluidSynth to know how I could make it all work. Is there a resource where I could learn more about this in OM?

Thank you in advance,
All best,
Jimmie

Yes it is possible to set a score object ports.
Can you provide a minimal example so i can demonstrate?
