Fluidsynth and OM 7.6

Dear forum,

I have a question that it is indirectly connected with OM.
I use OM 7.6 and tried to update the Fluidsynth to the latest edition through the terminal.

sudo port upgrade fluidsynth

I got the attached image message.

I played some midi samples to check the existing version of fluidsynth in my computer and I have:
FluidSynth runtime version 2.3.4

Is it the supposed one or there is a problem in my update procces?

Macbook pro 2018
2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
OS 12.7.6

Thank you in advance,

Dimitris

Dear Dimitris

If I understand you well, you are using Macports. And here Macports needs to compile the sources. That is why it is asking to install Xcode. BUT, if you already have fluidsynth installed you don’t need to upgrade it. It will work. Does it?

Also, I was able to install Fluidsynth on an old mac OS without XCode. In fact, I had to delete XCode to do it. I was usig Homebrew though.

Hi Karim,

yes, it works. No problem at all.
One more question, for quarter tone playback, is it always necessary to validate the 24 divisions patch in the fluidsynth-tutorial?

Thank you,

Dimitris

Dear Dimitris,

No now you can check in om prefrences (fluid tab) Auto Microtune
This will automatically “tune” the ovbject
