Hi,
the question posed here is similar to my previous one in this forum. I’d like to know if it’s possible – using the command line tools – to control dynamically the “age” processing option, with the the use of a parameter file. Basically, the result I’m trying to achieve is comparable to the Xfade feature in SVP Trax. If the answer is positive, how should this command line and this parameter file be constructed? Thanks for your kind concern.

Hello Francesco,
unfortunately the answer is not completely positive. The age processing option in SuperVP-TRaX is accessible via a command line flag -age in SuperVP. However there is no support for doing this dynamically, so xfade is not possible. On the other hand the age processing that is performed in SuperVP TRaX is implemented as a transposition of the spectral envelope, so you could use equivalently use the -transenv command line flag, and for this you can change the value dynamically and therefore you can do the xfade. You simply write the parameter file with lines containing time value pairs that are ordered in time and for that the value is the envelope transposition in cents.
Note, that in IRCAM Tools TRaX we have additionally added ambitus modification to the age transformation. This processing however is not directly accessible via command line in SuperVP. The ambitus is the F0 extend around the mean F0. In general you want the ambitus to decrease with the age. Please note that these age transformation approaches are still rather incomplete, because for the moment we do not cover the transformation of the voice source quality. This is a topic of current research activities.
