Crash at antescofo~ instantiation

Hello everybody.

Some antescofo~ users may experience a crash when opening a patch with the object. This is due to a temporary shutdown of the Forum services that must end Friday the 8th of november.

In the meantime, there is a wrorkaround : switch the network off on your computer, before opening your patch. You can switch on after, and it will run without problems.

The bug is caused by an incorrect answer received when the Forum is queried to know the last version number (this allow to emit a message when a new version is available).

Bonjour Jean-Louis, is the reason for the crash still there (le 17 novembre)? Max 7 and 8 still crash on my computer with Antescofo 1.0-1. (Version 0.92-112, however, works fine.) Will there be a fix for the version query bug soon? (It would also be nice to be able to deactivate the query.) Merci pour l’information.

Yes, the bug will persist until the the Forum services are fixed, and the resolution of the concerns is a little later than expected.

An object (version 1.0, Max, 64bit, OSX >= 10.8), that bypasses the bug is available at URL https://nubo.ircam.fr/index.php/s/Z9iPb9EqJRfcYPf

If you are using Catalina (10.15), the OS will forbid the dynamic loading of this external due to the new constraints enforced by Apple. Just right-click on antescofo~.mxo and select open with Max. Close Max and then everything will work as before.
