Compression/expansion not working

Hi all,

I’d like the compr/expan function to compress/expand the given sequence of pitches above, however, it only seems to do so with a Soprano C. Is there a step I’ve missed? I’ve set the compr/expan value at (0.0) for presentation’s sake.

Dear Hamish,

I thinlk this is because you are entering a chord-seq output of midics which is therefore a list of list. The compr/expan module only takes a simple list.
So just put a flat before the input to the moduel and it should work.

No, that didn’t help, I’m sorry. The list is already at its lowest level straight out of the first chord-seq. I’ve attached the patch below.

Ok then. You should use 1.0 for no compr/exp:

if you use 0 as a factor this will “flatten” all things up.
But maybe i didn’t get your question right.
