Chord-seq -> Finale

Hello Karim, Daniel and all friends,
my experiments may be not in the kernel of the discussions, When Chord-seq, voice expert to MusicXML ( OM Preference Tempi 48, Measure 2/4 Max division 8) and import to Finale, the 4 staves notation will be reduced in one. can be improved in the next Version? thanks!( ref. screenshots)

Dear Shing-kwei

That is I who created this topic for your post and moved it here since it is not at all a Musicxml issue but an OpenMusic one.
I did this in order to moderate discussions and keep them as efficient to all of us as it could be,

Cher Karim,

but I would like let Mr. Michael Good the Musicxml inventor to be involve in our discussion.

Dear Shing-kwei

The problem here is not related to MusicXml but to openmusic.
Openmusic desn’t have a staff class. What you see in OM with 4 staves, is just a display and NOT a real parsing of a voice into n-staves.
So when you export voice, chord-seq etc… to any other environment you will have ONLY one staff.
PianoStaves are not implemented in om. You should do this directly in Finale AFTER exporting it.

If you need to contact Michael you can directly contact him here :

Cher karim, cher Jean,
Thank you very much to arrange the topic into my own board.
After discussion with experts of Make Music (Finale Group) I perceived that OP only one staff essentially, ( please refer Forum Make Music http://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=6&m=474695&g=480613#m480613
Quotation: I think neither XML / openMusic nor Finale should be blamed, I suppose the “Voice” or " Chord-seq" of OM is only one staff but in virtual phanomenon ( it can be 1 ~4 staves, cleves). Posted 5/3/2016 3:00 PM (GMT -5)
May I ask you to improve the disadvantage of OM at lest in a PianoStave in the recent future?
Furthermore I will stay in Paris from 8-11 August, may I visit IRCAM and have a Redez-vous avec toi? merci beaucoup!
Au revoir!

bien cordialement

Dear Shing-kwei

Yes this confirms what i have told you in the precedent post. OM isn’t clef aware. Clefs are not implemented as objects, they are only a graphical display.
Even if they were implemented, drawing cross staff stemming is really complicated to get automated. Each environment has different rules of display. I am working on a tweak for Lilypond and it is not that easy.
For your visit, I unfortunately will be all august retired away in order to work on my music. Will be back in September, Maybe next time.
