Catart-mubu-tutorial 2b resegment

Changing the length of a marker in “catart-mubu-tutorial 2b resegment.maxpat” does not work.
Actually, the shortcut should be Control-Option-Command.
(I forgot where I found that one, but, truly, information is scattered over too many places…).
Also, this shortcut is stated as being Option-Command in several places.

The duration changes automatically to the length between the two markers.
So setting the length does not work, and I don’t see why (bug?).

Also I don’t see why we need two buffers. See example “onseg-with-descr-then-edit-and-resegment”. I think it does the same thing with one buffer.

You can try the shortcut in the patch:

I found the shortcut in 04.audio-and-markers.maxpat.
This should actually be in the imubu helpfile, for all interfaces.
That’s where I would look first.
But I guess you already thought of that

The duration was neither displayed nor used in that tut. Here is a complete one:
catart-mubu-tutorial 5c resegment+duration.maxpat (240.0 KB)

It is Cmd to add a new marker, Alt+Cmd and drag to change a marker’s length or to add a new marker and set its length (as documented in mubu help, markers view “How to edit”). We’ll correct 04.audio-and-markers, thanks!

At some time Alt-Cmd dit not work here, now it does, as well as Ctl-Alt-Cmd.
I know about the shortcuts of all displays, it’s just that at one point, maybe related to this discarded folder in the Max for Live Projects folder, it did not work.

I don’t find this in the currenct patch, but I found this if you leave highlight on and display the markers:
Agreed that the green selection color makes it hard to judge the length if you make the duration shorter. But: if I set the green color to 100% transparent, I’m still left with a white selection. That looks like a bug.
(by the way, view_highlight_color is greyed out, but you can still set it, which is maybe also a bug).

If I remove the connection from highlight $1 @bufferindex $2 to prepend view #2 in camu.imubu.control, I can still see which segment I’m over, and you can also see how small the difference in color is when you change the duration. I cannot find a setting to change this contrast.
It also proves that the 100% transparency bug is in the highlight color.

It would also help if you could see the ‘current’ duration you are dragging to. Even in split view, the duration changes only if you ‘release’ the selection. Then you have to go back to the marker, in stead of being able to drag the right edge of the duration.
I guess that’s a feature request.

Thanks for the patch!

hi,
to do this you can activate the continousediting attribute of imubu.
