Ok, i found an article about the WindowProcess on Mac:
Apparently, there are many reasons that this happens. Do you have:
- Many monitors?
- a new mac Intel or an older model?
- Is your desktop cluttered with icons (folders and stuff?)

just the mackbook
16-inch, 2019 (that makes it old right ?)
nothing on the desktop.
Not necesssary so. I have almost the same thing:
But it might be an issue with RAM.
My patch is working here:
Here are some system log infos (in case that might help)…
launch-OK.txt (6.0 KB)
launch NOT-OK.txt (5.4 KB)
Will do a ram text.

RAM ok.
Will try to get better log infos using “sudo log stream” when I will get the right --predicate to filter om…

According to the logs you’ve sent, it might be that when you log out or exit your session OM was still running and somethig called tristan.FSMonitor also:

What is this tristan thing?
Yes, I was using FSMonitor to log events…
But here are much better logs directly from the terminal.
results for :
sudo log stream --predicate ‘process == “OM 7.2”’
and
sudo log stream --debug --predicate ‘process == “OM 7.2”’

Hope that helps…

Did you try to:
Launch again?
same thing.
sorry…
I’ll keep launching om with nothing else active and open.

Dear Yan,
I am sorry for your situation. I tried to reproduce it on my machine in vain. I suspect this is something to do either with your setup, or due to lack of RAM. Just a guess.
Do you have something such as a antivirus running, or such?
Best
K
nope. nothing running.
But it’s ok Karim, I’ll manage.

Yan
Dear Yan,
Can you try:
Just to try to sort things out.

Hi everyone!
Same problems here. I’m on Ventura 13.1 with an Intel Mac. Each time I try to open OM 6.20, 7.1 or 7.2 (the versions I have installed) the app is open, but no windows appear. I can open the windows from the dock (the workspace, etc.), but then I have the next problems:
I’ve tried with different workspaces (even with workspaces that worked previously), but the behaviour is always the same. I’ve put the file venturafix2 in the init folder of the OM package, but it doesn’t change anything.
Please can you try this OM version:
And then report back please to see if this works. It do here on my Intel/Ventura.

K
Dear Karim
Thank you very much for your work !
For me it’s the same as with 7.12.
OM won’t launch unless another app (or even a finder window) in opened.
I get around it now, and it must be related to my system and/or running apps so since there are not so many people with the same issue… oh well.
Best
Yan
Aaargh
very weird.

Merci beaucoup, Karim!! It seems to work now! :)))
7.3 allows me to create a new workspace, I can reopen it after I close the app (workspace and listener windows now are open when I open the app), I can save the workspace without any error, and finally I can open old workspaces. Now I can put OM classes and functions writing in the patch as usual.
Yan, have you tried 7.3?
