Can Not Open OM 6.10 in OS X El Capitan

Hi,

I can not open OM 6.10 in OS X El Capitan.
The app icon just keeps bouncing for a few minutes after I click it, and then stop and nothing is show. The app then becomes “Not Responding.”
I have the same problem with Lispworks… not sure if it’s something missing in my mac or it’s about OM 6.10.
I do have X11 installed, though.

Thanks!

Appears to Work well here to date (OS 10.11.3). Have you attempted to disable the new system integrity protection? Dont know if it has anything to do with your problem with OM but I need to do this for El Capitan to recognize my M-Audio “old” FW interface. Audiosculpt etc work all well.
BTW, OM 6.9. did not work well with OS 10.11.3.

Hi, You’re right this is maybe something about system protection.
OM is not signed as a “known” Apple application (probably the same with LispWorks) so your system settings / “security and confidentiality” should be on “Allow applications downloaded from: Anywhere”

Thanks for responding!
I tried both approaches, but it’s still not working.

I contacted Lispworks’ support team.
It turned out it’s because my mac name has a non-ASICC char ’ (it was XXX’s Macbook Pro).
Changing the computer’s name using sudo scutil --set HostName name-you want fixed the issue.
And OM worked afterwards.

Happy to hear that!
That is good to know for the future…
