Best way to notate piano harmonics for follower?

I’m writing more and more pieces with harmonics, and I’m not sure how to best notate these for the follower. The harmonic is most commonly either

  • 2 octaves above the fundamental, or
  • a 12th above the fundamental.

Listening to the actual sound though, there’s a moment of a blunted attack of the fundamental pitch before the harmonic predominates.

I’ve tried notating

  • Just the sounding pitch, i.e. the pitch of the harmonic
  • A chord incorporating both the fundamental and the harmonic’s pitch

Both of these seem to work “medium well”, but neither one follows as accurately as normal piano notes.

Has anyone found an approach that follows this sort of thing well? Any tips from the Antescofo team on how to configure the follower to handle these as well as possible?

Here are two tracks if you want an example of what I mean:

The best approach to follow what you describe is using a TRILL. Think of the content of a TRILL as a set of events that can happen (or not) in any order.

I have successfully used Antescofo with [sub]harmonics on violin in the past.

If your problem persists give me more context (instrument/Asco file/short recording).
