Hi!

thanks for your work,
I’m trying to use Dicy2 but I think there’s something wrong, when I upload an audio file nothing happens in the class inspector.
I can only preview the segments when I select class 0 (and not always) and anyway no sequence is created.

Is maybe because I’m in Ableton Live version 10?
I can’t open the tutorial but everything else seems to work…

thanks!
Leo

Hi @leonardocincinelli !

Unfortunately this is indeed due to your version of Live, Dicy for Live has been developed for versions >= 11.

Best,

Jérôme

oh, ok thanks!

HI,
I have updated to ableton 12 and macos sequoia. I have no more classes visible in the class inspector. Can you advise please.

Thanks
Luca

Hi Luca
I had the same problem.
Try to put the MUBU package out of your Max path and everything should work.
Cheers
Lionel

Hi Lionel,

Thanks a lot. it works now in Dicy2 for Live, I appreciate it.
However now it sadly doesn’t work for Dicy2 for Max.

Luca

Weird
I need to check

Hi Luca
What you need to do is to check what MAX you have in your Ableton path, the one provided with Ableton or the actual Max software.
Maybe you still have Mubu in your actual Max package folder…
Hope it will work, anyway, I’m going to investigate a little more later.
Best
Lionel

Thanks @kalikay Kalikay for your reply — indeed, everything should work in Live afterwards for @lfo . And it’s normal, then, if Dicy2 for Max no longer finds Mubu, since it has been removed from Max’s path.

Dicy2 comes with its own version of Mubu. Therefore, there should be no competition between the two. When using Max for Live, there are several options: either use in Live the version of Max that is bundled with Ableton, or use in Live the version of Max installed on your own computer (all of this can be found in Live’s settings).

Also, when using the bundled version of Max from Live, nothing will be searched for in the packages installed in the Max on your computer. So everything should work and nothing will cause any problems.

However, if you ever want to use in Live the Max installed on your computer, you need to remove Mubu from the packages when you use the Live version, and put Mubu back into the packages when you use the Max version, so that there is no conflict between the two.

WAY BETTER explanations
Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a lot @kalikay and @jnika for the thorough explanations, much appreciated, all clear now.
I initially thought it was because I had two versions of Max (8 and 9). Now all works indeed
if I remove and put pack MUBU in the path depending of the Live or Max version used.
Totally appreciated !

all the best
Luca
