AAAS Analysis

Hi All,
I have installed Audiosculpt version 3.2.7, and also installed enclosed new commandline tools.
When I load a sound file and ask about AAAS analysis I get always the same error from Adaptive Sonogram Analysis window: “Failed to launch shell script”.
I premise that, having had some time ago the opportunity to test a precedent developing version, AAAS Analysis was functioning, it does not run with this last version.
At the moment I have changed USERHOME environment variable for working on a project of mine, I don’t know if this can be relevant.
From Audiosculpt terminal no messages.
My configuration is MacBook Pro 13-inch, Mid 2012, Software OS X 10.8.5, 2,5 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
I enclose a shotscreen selection.
Anyone can help me?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Fabio,

The AAAS analysis is not a public feature of AudioSculpt and should be disabled and hidden from the analysis Menu.
Even if you had a development version (i am quite surprised you had one ?) that worked with AAAS, there were no public release of AudioSculpt with that feature outside of IRCAM as it is currently a research in progress.

This feature is disabled in AudioSculpt and should not be available from the Analysis Menu.
This was the case also for the last versions too (3.2.6).

I am really curious on how you managed to have it as we have similar configuration and currently the people around me cannot see also this option on 3.2.7 ? May be an option reactivate the visibility and i would like to know how it is possible.
Is this option menu visible by default in your version ?
If not, do you know when you can see it, or if a specific action reveal it ?

Thanks in advance for this feedback.

Best,
Charles

Hi All,

After few investigations, Fabio found that his version was a temporary and internal version of AudioSculpt 3.2.7 taken from the IRCAM forge website,
wich is a repository of all IRCAM code projects where some software packages may be publicly accessible from the internet but is not the official/standard distribution website for AudioSculpt.

This internal/test version was only visible for few days and was probably downloaded it during this short period.

Information Note :

For users who are asking themselves, concerning AudioSculpt, the official and stable versions of the software are available and guaranteed only from the ForumNet. For those who know the forge and may access several software packages there, be sure that the AudioSculpt versions that may be visible from there are not supported officially as stable and approved ForumNet versions.

About the AAAS analysis, this feature is currently not publicly available (for the current version 3.2.7 and before, it won’t be available any time soon). So do not search for it in your AudioSculpt menu  If you don’t have it, then your version is perfectly fine.

Subject is resolved.

Thank you Fabio for your help and your investigations.

Best,
Charles

Hi,
as you can see from the screenshot attached, the AAAS analysis option has made again its appearance in AS 3.2.8. When will this much awaited and teased feature finally become available?
Best,
Francesco

Hi Francesco,

Ah, that’s my bad ! I left the menu option visible (heedless developer…)
And sadly for you, it should not work because the executables to use the AAAS were stripped from the Forum version.

Well, when the feature will be marked as stable for the Forum users it will be released. I think that may be pretty much soon.

Best,
Charles
