Rhythm error in XML export

Dear Jialin

Thank you for your contribution. I will look into that, even if Finale now is Off scope since it is unfortunately buried.
Soon in the next OM 7.5 to be released by the end of October you will see a lot of improvments regarding microtones. So let us wait until then.
and please feel free to remind me so.

Dear @haddad

I’m facing issues when trying to export a voice with nested tuplets from OM to .musicxml. The nested tuplets are interpreted (in MuseScore at least) as bizarre ratio simple tuplets.

I tried to follow this (big) discussion here and am looking to figure out whether the lisp file you attached in response to Charles will still make the deal - on OM 7.6. Could you please help me with this?

The URL to the file you sent to Charles is:

Thanks!

Dear priosfilho,

Nothing is really wrong with the musicxml export. Unfortunately, it is musescore’s musixml parser that can’t handle nested tuplet.
Just try to write a musescore score with a nested tuplet, export it in musicxml from musescore, then import it back. You will see that the rhythm is awfully wrong. And unfortunately this “bug” persists in their latest version 4.6.5.

We have someone who is working on a musescore export from OM, in musescore format. And tuplets there is good. However, since it is in progress the code is not yet available.

Dear Karim,

Thanks for your clear explanation. It’s great to know that an export-to-ms is being prompted! Will be a great tool when it’s done. Thanks!

Best,
Paulo
